Job description
Thomas Concrete is looking for a full-time hard-working, enthusiastic, and reliable Plant Lead to help maintain our concrete plant. Increased pay for candidates with previous plant lead experience.
SUMMARY
The successful candidate for this position will have a positive, professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills and will be able to work independently. The nature of the work will require that the candidate demonstrate initiative and responsibility and be flexible/adaptive to a fast-paced and fluid plant environment. The primary responsibility of this position is to batch concrete to meet production demands; ensure quality control and environmental compliance; and assist on the plant yard when needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years related experience and/or training
- A working knowledge of the programming functions of all current plant systems
- An understanding of all aspects of concrete production and the types of products produced
- An understanding of QC/QA for the ready mix concrete industry
- Must possess a DOT batch card or the ability to obtain one
- Knowledge of production equipment, production processes and maintenance programs
- A commitment to team concepts, a sense of ownership and urgency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with all managers, employees, vendors and customers
- Excellent problem-solving skills Working computer skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
