Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Crew Management:
- Supervise and lead a team of fence installers, ensuring efficient and professional execution of projects.
- Provide training and guidance to team members, fostering skill development and teamwork.
- Communicate project goals, timelines, and expectations to crew members.
2. Installation Oversight:
- Review project plans and ensure installations align with specifications, blueprints, and customer requirements.
- Conduct pre-installation site inspections to verify measurements and address potential issues.
- Operate and oversee the use of tools and equipment, ensuring they are maintained and used safely.
3. Quality Control:
- Ensure all fences are installed to Thomas Fence’s high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
- Perform final inspections to confirm installations meet company and customer expectations.
- Address and resolve any on-site challenges or discrepancies promptly.
4. Safety Compliance:
- Enforce adherence to company safety policies and OSHA regulations on all job sites.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
5. Customer Interaction:
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for customers, providing updates and addressing concerns.
- Represent Thomas Fence professionally and courteously to maintain positive client relationships.
6. Administrative Duties:
- Accurately complete and submit daily job reports, time sheets, and material usage logs.
- Communicate project updates and challenges to the Operations Manager.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fence installation or a related field.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment relevant to fencing projects.
- Strong understanding of construction techniques and materials for various fencing types.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience operating light equipment, such as skid steers or augers.
- Familiarity with local building codes and permit processes.
- Valid CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable with heavy lifting (up to 75 pounds) and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to stand, kneel, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods.
