Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, management in the areas of finance, personnel selection, facilities, operations, research, and strategic decision making. Oversees both Graduate and Undergraduate programs.
Job Description
Essential Functions
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Ensures smooth operational functioning of the Educational Programs Office. Performs ongoing operations management and staff supervision, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, discipline, coaching, performance appraisals and team building.
- Monitors the activity of Educational Programs accounts (College, Special Purpose, Gifts, Trusts, Grants and Endowments). Reviews statements to ensure that expenses are within budget. Prepares annual budgets.
- Coordinates Annual Report process for GME and UME, by gathering data and reviewing with Directors.
- Participates in research.
- Responsible for compensating Internal Medicine residents for stipends and scholarly work, adhering to established policies and ensuring that all requirements have been met.
- Prepares Phase 3 enrollment numbers for Internal Medicine for Jefferson and the affiliates.
- Coordinates Class Day Awards.
- Timekeeper for Internal Medicine residents, including moonlighting payments and coverage for other departments; and the Education staff.
- Coordinates the following events : the Chairman's Reception for 4th Year Students Interested in Internal Medicine, Simenhoff lecture breakfast, conducts 2 orientation sessions to orient new Chief Residents annually, arranges the Education holiday luncheon.
- Signatory authority for various accounts, processes and forms. Custodian, Kowlessar Endowment.
