POSITION SUMMARY
The Thompson Center on Lourdes (TCoL) provides opportunities for people 50 to thrive through meaningful collaboration, socialization, education, and wellness programming. We seek a creative individual to help us spread that mission and increase participation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The following duties are typical for this position. These are not construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Marketing
- Increase Brand Awareness of TCoL and prepare media strategy.
- Plan and implement multiple marketing initiatives across various platforms.
- Create content (written & visual), conduct copywriting, graphic design, and video editing.
- Measure, analyze, and report on marketing campaigns against goals (ROI and KPIs).
- Collaboration with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external
- Manage social media, direct marketing, and other marketing activities.
- Work with the Fund Development and Executive Director on projects to ensure consistency in messaging, storytelling, and marketing strategies across the agency.
- Stay abreast of trends and signals in our community and nation.
- Attend occasional weekend, early morning, or evening outreach events.
Newsletter
- Create and oversee the digital and hardcopy monthly newsletter process.
- Gather, edit, design, and upload all pertinent information.
- Proof all submissions to the newsletters to maintain accurate, current newsletters.
- Work closely with staff to create and publish the newsletters.
Website
- Plan, implement, manage, and monitor the organizational website.
- Responding to and troubleshooting all website issues.
- Conducting content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information.
- Creating appropriate website content aligned with the organization’s strategy.
- Collaborating with all staff and management to ensure the website aligns with brand strategy and meets the organization’s standards.
- Creating strategies to grow subscriber base and web traffic metrics.
- Work with the IT vendor to ensure full compliance with all laws and regulations on the website.
- Keeping up to date with industry best practices and monitoring competitor websites.
Social Media
- Update community calendars as needed.
- Create content for social media platforms (Fox Cities Magazine, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)
Media Relations
- Maintain relationships with various media entities (TV, Radio, Print Media, Digital News).
- Create press releases and submit articles that align with TCoL’s brand strategy.
Collaboration
- Serves as a chief liaison with various community groups to enhance connections, develop further marketing skills, and/or promote the agency.
- Work closely with staff to recruit volunteers to meet TCoL’s needs.
- Work with fund development staff to raise funds to sustain operations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Proven success in developing marketing plans and campaigns
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills
- Metrics-driven marketing mind with an eye for creativity
- Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, business, or related field
- Proficiency with online marketing and social media strategy
- Proven success in designing interactive applications and networking platforms
- Established contacts in the media
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Ability to work well with people age 50 and older.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to be creative, enthusiastic, and positive in performing duties.
- Ability to prioritize work.
- Strong customer, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Possess good interpersonal skills, is team-oriented, and can establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, program leaders, participants, and the public.
- Ability to prepare various documents, including program and participation reports and financials.
- Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook, Canva, WordPress, or Adobe.
- Proficiency in various databases (Constant Contact, Schedules Plus, Network for Good) is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to solve problems.
- Ability to operate under pressure with frequent interruptions.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
Personal computer, copy machine, phone, and voice mail.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level may vary from quiet to moderately loud. Work is performed inside TCoL.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, and hear. The employee must often use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds.
