Payroll & Accounts Payable Clerk

Thompson Solutions Group is looking for a Payroll & Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to support our payroll administration and AP functions. This role is perfect for someone eager to learn, grow, and make an impact in a dynamic company.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with payroll data entry and verification to ensure accuracy before processing.
- Respond to employee questions about payroll records and discrepancies.
- Support payroll audits by gathering and organizing documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and payroll regulations.
- Prepare and submit Certified Payroll Reports in accordance with prevailing wage laws.
- Process payroll transactions, including garnishments and deductions.
- Accurately enter invoices and ensure they comply with company policies.
- Work with the AP Coordinator and team members to resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Assist with monthly statement reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Support general office tasks and provide backup coverage when needed.
What You Bring:
- High school diploma or GED (0-2 years of experience in payroll, accounts payable, or a related field).
- Strong numerical skills and basic math proficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn.
