The Radiology Scheduler will serve as the coordinator for schedules and appointments, often between doctors and patients. Schedulers must listen to the needs of the person requesting the appointment to determine the amount of time the appointment will require and then find time that works best for both the patient and the medical professional. They should be professional and can manage multiple calls. Must have regular predictable attendance.
The incumbent will carry-out her/his duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acts in the best interest of Three Crosses Regional Hospital, and fully supports the mission, vision, and values of Three Crosses Regional Hospital. The incumbent will have knowledge of health care systems, and have demonstrated ability to interact, relate to, work with, and support the activities of a diverse workforce.
Primary Responsibilities
- Schedules for all Radiology appointments, walk-ins, call ins and incoming orders
- Reviews all orders for accuracy.
- Retrieves voicemails from phone and email systems and returns calls.
- Responsible for answering scheduling main line and transferring, taking messages, and helping patients accordingly and resolving scheduling conflicts as they occur.
- Liaise and coordinate with health care professionals about schedules, patients, and any changes.
- Ensuring all incoming orders have demos, insurance, authorization info and all other pertinent info, communicate with referring Provider office for needed or missing information.
- Maintains patient demographic information and data collection systems.
- Responsible for E-Fax and Email flow and accuracy.
- Responsible for ensuring all MRN’s and FINs are in EHR.
- Responsible for updating and ensuring accuracy for the Radiology and Surgery queues to include all order and patient information.
- Answers questions from patients, clerical staff and MD offices.
- Maintain filing as needed.
- Sends out communications for all.
- Attend staff meetings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a hospital setting
