General Description / Position Summary :
This is a temporary position for the duration of our mobile distribution events, with a flexible schedule based on event dates and times. The position of Senior Hunger Programs Coordinator administers front line, effective customer service to Senior Hunger Programs partners while implementing program efforts for Golden Groceries and other SHP priority areas. This position is responsible in ensuring the smooth operation of our mobile distribution events.
This position is grant funded through June 2025.
Essential Job Functions :
- Coordinates program efforts for Golden Groceries by working with Operations including Procurement, Warehouse, Agency Services, Volunteer Operations, and Transportation.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of distribution sites, including tents, tables, signage, and other necessary equipment.
- Assist in the distribution of products to attendees, ensuring that everyone receives the correct items and quantities.
- Demonstrates best practices when training partners and delivering consistent and essential support to program sites.
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment for attendees, including managing lines and controlling crowds during peak periods.
- Effectively and respectfully communicates with seniors to connect them with the program most appropriate for them.
- Provide general support to the event team as needed, including assisting with logistics, troubleshooting technical issues, and other tasks as assigned.
- Follow standard operating procedures in repetitive tasks associated with ongoing programs and activities such as the use of CERES and Oasis Insight and monitoring the delivery calendar.
- Communicate through various channels with SHP partners and internal departments to keep them abreast of all current and / or changing guidelines and other pertinent compliance information.
- Respond to partner inquiries / issues and follow up as needed. Identify operational trends that lead to challenges / barriers / delays and work collaboratively to solve problems.
- Provide excellent customer service by following up on matters of concern until they have been sufficiently resolved. Communicate recommendations to manager through ongoing communication.
- Assist in gathering information / data as needed for interdepartmental use or other reporting requests.
- Maintain required job knowledge, skills, and core professional competencies. Attend and participate in required educational programs and staff meetings.
- Maintain a positive work environment by conducting all communications with colleagues, supervisors, interns, and volunteers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Be articulate, concise, and accurate in communication, whether it is in speaking or in writing.
- Manage confidential information relating to clients, agencies, and donors.
- Maintain a strong focus on housekeeping, documentation, sanitation & food safety processes must be upheld & is essential for the success of Three Square with various inspections by AIB, USDA, SNHD & Feeding America.
- Perform other job functions as requested or assigned.
Requirements : Qualifications
Education and Experience :
At least two years of college or two years of experience in logistics or operations is required. Previous experience in customer service or event support preferred but not required. Experience interacting with the aging population with diverse backgrounds is a plus. Ability to speak, write, and read in Spanish is a plus. Any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Working Environment
The work environment for this temporary position is dynamic, involving both indoor and outdoor settings. From outdoor mobile distribution sites at diverse agencies outside of Three Square to indoor in an office at Three Square. Employee will use computer and phones extensively and drive frequently for work. Occasionally working outside of normal working hours, such as early mornings, evenings or weekends is required. While performing the duties of this job, occasional exposure to outside weather conditions will occur.

Safe driving record, current vehicle insurance and the ability to use their personal vehicle for business at off-site locations. Employees must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
