Inventory Clerk
JOB SUMMARY
As an Inventory Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring that all products are properly stored and accounted for. You will work closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure that all inventory procedures are followed and that all products are properly labeled and tracked. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential to your success in this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems and bar code scanners
- Ensure that all inventory is properly stored and accounted for
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits
- Work closely with the production team to ensure that necessary materials are available
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks to move products as needed
- Follow all safety rules and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
- Entering information into spreadsheets and databases
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft and Excel. You will use your excellent communication skills both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and staff via email and phone. You will use your strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory records. You must be able to use your skills in reading and interpreting documents, calculating figures and amounts to perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits. Ensuring accuracy in data entry and document processing. You will also use your experience with warehouse management systems and bar code scanners to ensure all products are properly stored and accounted for.

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: rare lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; rare stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 20% or more sitting, 70% or more walking, and 70% or more standing. The job is performed under frequent temperature variations and in a food manufacturing production environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift to 60 lbs. is required.
JOB SUMMARY
The Inventory Clerk helps manage inventory of food products at each stage of the production process, which includes receiving inbound freight, staging goods for production, and loading outbound shipments of finished product. Clerks will regularly be expected to accurately perform cycle counts and transfer inventory using the MRP system. Additionally, Clerks should have experience using pallet jacks, forklifts, and reach trucks. May need to drive a box truck.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate inventory control including daily cycle counts and replenish inventory as directed in all areas
- Load and unload freight trucks; Pick and stage raw goods for production orders
- Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment and production by performing duties to quality and productivity standards
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing product to verify information against bills of lading, orders, or other records
- Must be able to understand quality standards, methods, and reporting as required

REQUIREMENTS
- Requires a high school diploma/GED. Clean driving record. Forklift Certification - will be certified by a Thrive | Mercer Foods authorized team member. Experience of at least 1 year driving a forklift or similar operating equipment. The ability to read, write, mathematically compute, and operate a computer using basic functions is required. Requires the ability to maintain motivation and to work independently and as part of a team.

- In the absence of Supervisor, serves as back up to ensure all food safety, quality objectives and SQF system requirements are met.
