PART TIME SPECIAL NEEDS NANNY NEAR CEDAR PARK/ROUND ROCK

Near Patsy Sommer Elementary School

Children: 6 y/o female (typically developing)

10 y/o male with Autism

Compensation: $27-$30/hour

2 weeks PTO

Guaranteed Hours

Mileage Reimbursement for on-the-job miles

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 9:00 am

Every 2nd and 4th Sunday 1:00 pm -5:00 pm

Thrive Nannies is looking for a nanny who has experience with and a love of working with children with special needs to care for two children in the Cedar Park/Round Rock area.

The six year old is an energetic, typically developing child. She is fun, talkative, and friendly. She loves to play and engage with her caregivers. The ten year old boy has Autism. He is nonverbal and attends both school and ABA therapy. He is sweet, cuddly, and typically calm, however, he does enjoy climbing and can occasionally climb on surfaces in the home that are inappropriate for this activity. He is not yet potty trained and needs a nanny who is comfortable changing pull-ups.

The ideal candidate would have experience working with children with Autism - particularly children with limited verbal language. This candidate would enjoy working with individuals with behavioral differences and be comfortable with personal care assistance, such as changing pull ups. This candidate would “meet the children where they are”, flexibly following their lead while providing consistent rules and boundaries. The family needs someone who is reliable and a team player with the children’s best interest at heart.

While the nanny’s duties will primarily be child-centered, the nanny will perform some household management tasks when the children are sleeping or not home (specific tasks listed below).

General Duties of the Nanny/Attendant Include:

• Maintain a safe and healthy environment for the children
• Driving the children to school and activities such as ABA therapy
• Preparing breakfast and school lunches for the children
• Getting the children ready for school in the morning
• Engaging in meaningful, developmentally appropriate activities and interactions that build connection with the children
• Clean up after the children’s use (toys, dishes, etc) and/or teach the children to clean up after themselves as developmentally appropriate.
• Snack and Dinner prep for children (heating premade meals) on Sundays
• Household Management (when both children are sleeping or at school/camps/therapy)
• General pick up of the home
• Unload/load dishwasher
• Family Laundry
• Errands/Grocery Shopping

Qualifications:

• 3 years of caregiving experience
• Current CPR/First Aid
• Experience working with children with Autism, behavioral and language differences
