Thrive Nannies is looking for a kind but firm, reliable nanny with Autism experience to provide engaging and supportive care for a six year old boy with Autism and Pathological Demand Avoidance.
There may be some days when the nanny is child-free for a few hours (example: summer camp days). During the child-free times, the nanny may be asked to complete some light household duties (laundry/dishes) or run errands (example: grocery shopping) for the family.
This bright and curious child thrives with a caregiver who is attuned to his emotional state and notices before the demands being placed get too high for his comfort level. He loves swimming, swinging, learning about outer space, super heroes, puzzles, and building toys, such as Legos and magnatiles.
The ideal nanny for this family is calm, attentive, and creative—someone who can support the child's emotional regulation, social development, and independence through gentle guidance and interactive activities.
The family has a 43 lb dog and a pool in the backyard, so comfort with dogs and an ability to swim are required.
General Duties of the Nanny Include:
- Engage all children in developmentally appropriate activities
- Meal preparation and cleanup of the child
- Driving to appointments and activities
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in childcare, preferably special needs
- Current CPR/First Aid
- Solid Swimmer and able to monitor children in the water
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
