Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Daycare Teacher to provide high-quality care and education for young children in a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment. This position offers flexibility, making it suitable for individuals at various experience levels, from entry-level Associate Teachers to experienced Lead Teachers.
The ideal candidate will support the development of children by implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum, guiding their social, emotional, and intellectual growth, and ensuring a positive learning experience. As a teacher, you will work closely with other staff members to foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities may include:
- Classroom Support & Instruction: Assist in the development and implementation of daily activities and educational plans that are appropriate for children’s age and developmental stage. Engage children in activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc.) to enhance child’s abilities. Lead activities when appropriate.
- Child Supervision & Care: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times. Oversee activities and routines such as mealtime, nap time, and playtime, providing guidance and support to help children engage and develop while ensuring you always keep all children in your room within your sight and sound.
- Behavior Management & Guidance: Help maintain a positive classroom atmosphere by supporting positive behavior and using effective classroom management strategies. Encourage cooperation, respect, and kindness among children. Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with fellow teachers, assistants, and the Director to create a cohesive and positive environment. Share ideas and best practices, and support colleagues in achieving classroom goals.
- Assessment & Documentation: Observe and document children’s progress and development. Provide feedback to parents regarding children’s growth and areas for improvement. Maintain accurate records as required by the center.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all health, safety and licensing procedures, ensuring a clean and secure environment for children. Assist in maintaining classroom and facility cleanliness.
- Professional Growth: Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge of child development and early childhood education practices. Seek opportunities for growth within the organization and take on more leadership responsibilities as experience allows.
- Parent Communication: Foster open and respectful communication with parents, providing updates on children’s progress and any relevant issues or concerns. Support parent-teacher communication during meetings and events.
PAY: Commensurate with market rate and experience of candidate.HOURS: full time, 40 hours per week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred.
- For Associate Teacher: No formal teaching experience required, though some experience with children is a plus.
- For Lead Teacher: Minimum of 5 years of experience in an early childhood education or daycare setting, with at least 3 years in a teaching or leadership role.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Other certifications related to early childhood education are a plus

- Strong communication and collaboration
- Passion for working with diverse population of children.
- Flexible, adaptable, and willing to take on new responsibilities as the role progresses.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift children, assist with physical activities, and engage in activities such as bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor.
