- Provide HR support for plant personnel.
- Assist with HRIS reporting.
- Assist the HR management team with compliance activities to include defining policies and procedures to ensure employment and work practices comply with applicable laws and regulations. Maintain all necessary records and files to support review and audit.
- Provide advice and assistance to employees and managers on HR policies, programs, and procedures.
- Resolve HR inquiries or escalate to the appropriate individual depending on severity.
- Apply fundamental business and HR concepts to assignments and carry out the company’s HR policies, programs, plans, practices and procedures.
- Confer with management on unusual or non-standard matters.
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding process for blue collar personnel.
- Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Assist with safety activities including OSHA training, tracking, safety team and work comp related activities.
- Track training for all blue collar employees.
- Facilitate all I9's and Background checks.
- Responsible for all payroll functions including time and attendance.
- Assist with administration STD and FMLA blue collar.
- Assist with engagement activities, community outreach and overall plant moral.
- Assist with contractor and visitor process.
- Assist with incoming plant calls.
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
- HRIS experience required.
- Must be able to assist with job responsible for both locations Ashley, IN and Hillsdale, MI.
- Attention to detail is critical in this role; excellent proofreading skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Apply fundamental business and HR concepts to assignments and carry out the company’s HR policies, programs, plans, practices and procedures.
- Self-directed with a high degree of self-motivation.
- Must be able to handle multitasks.
- Flexible work schedule.
- Gather and coordinate basic information using established procedures.
- Proficient computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc..
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources or related field.
- Excellent employee relations and people sensitive skills.
- Recruitment and onboarding experience I9 and Backgrounds required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time.
- Must be able travel to sister plant monthly.
- Occasionally lifts and carries up to 15 pounds.
- Works at a PC for hours at a time.
