What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer I position at TI Fluid Systems?
Responsibilities of Position:
- Ensure the safety of plant personnel is maintained at all times.
- Develop improvements in processes to help lower manufacturing costs.
- Design and/or procurement of all new production and laboratory equipment and tooling.
- Ensure new products are launched in a timely manner and maintain quoted profit margins.
- Ensure that effective mistake proof devices are on all pieces of equipment.
- Ensure that all pieces of equipment are stable and process capable.
- Maintain quality levels and make improvements to increase levels of quality.
- Oversee maintenance activities on individual projects to ensure installations are made in a timely manner.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation to address customer concerns.
- Ensure ample stock levels are maintained for repair parts.
- Develop new processes to maintain TI Automotive as leader in the tube manufacturing industry for fluid carrying systems.
- Establish and document standard operating procedures for equipment operation, product testing and equipment maintenance.
- Training of production operators, support staff and other engineers.
- Write Capital Expenditure requests for capital projects.
- Develop and maintain process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA) for all processes.
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
Skill Requirements:
- A strong and applied understanding of plating electrolysis, chemistry, heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949, Core tools – SPC, APQP, PFMEA, and MSA.
- Must have excellent computer and communication skills.
- Ability to design tools, equipment and layouts with computer aided design software.
Education and Other Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical or Electrical) or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in an electroplating manufacturing facility.
- Valid drivers’ license.
- Passport for International Travel
