Tiffin University is seeking an individual to fill our Graduate Assistant for Career Services position. The Graduate Assistant for Career Services is fully in-person at the Tiffin University campus for the 2025-2026 academic year. It is a part-time position, and the GA will work 20 hours per week. The benefits of this position include a monthly stipend and 100% of tuition costs, class lab fees, and technology fees (does not include books). The Graduate Assistant MUST be admitted and enrolled in a minimum of 4 credit hours each semester towards a Masters program at Tiffin University in order to be eligible and maintain eligibility.
Tiffin University is seeking two Graduate Assistants for the Career Services Office starting in Fall 2025. The Graduate Assistant for Career Services will provide direct support to the office by managing the online job management system (Handshake), scheduling and providing students with one-on-one career development regarding resumes, cover letters, job and internship search process, etc., and providing tools and resources for success. The GA will provide support for Career Services events, including careers fair, an annual etiquette event, etc., and will also be responsible for creating, organizing, and running several career education workshops throughout the academic year. The Graduate Assistant for Career Services will also provide support by presenting in various classrooms and conducting workshops as requested by faculty and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for conducting classroom presentations, as requested by faculty, to inform students of particular topics and/or resources and services offered by Career Services.
- Meet one-on-one with students to review resumes, cover letters, interviewing skills, etc., to help students prepare for their internship and/or job search.
- Manage Handshake, including vetting employers, reviewing employer flags, posting career and internship opportunities, managing appointment scheduling, targeted emails, posting events, etc.
- Identify and implement initiatives to increase student and employer usage of the TU Handshake account.
- Create and manage a marketing plan for the Career Services Office with an emphasis on social media presence in our various outlets while assessing analytics to ensure engagement.
- Create all marketing and promotional resources for all events with an emphasis on brand alignment for the university.
- Assist with special programming and projects such as career fairs, training sessions, classroom presentations, and other programming initiatives.
- Become familiar with the internship guidelines for TU students.
- Collect various data points (student appointments, student event engagement, employer engagement, etc.)
- Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Director.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in business, human resources, education, or something similar is required, as well as enrollment in Tiffin University’s graduate program during the graduate assistant position. Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic, conduct themselves in a professional manner, work well autonomously and in a team environment, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
