SUPERVISOR: Head Men’s Soccer Coach
DEPARTMENT: Athletics – Men’s Soccer
LOCATION: Tiffin University, Tiffin, OH
Tiffin University, an NCAA Division II institution competing in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, located in Tiffin, Ohio, is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our Men's Soccer program as a Graduate Assistant for Goalkeepers. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable coaching experience while pursuing graduate studies at Tiffin University.
The Graduate Assistant is responsible for (but not limited to) assisting the head coach in practices, operation, and administration of the program in accordance with the policies, procedures, and by-laws of Tiffin University, the athletic department, and NCAA Division II. Duties consist of recruiting, academic success, practice planning, scheduling, scouting reports, travel arrangements, fundraising and marketing, community outreach, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Goalkeeper Training and Development: Assist in planning and executing training sessions specifically for goalkeepers, focusing on individual skill development, tactical awareness, and match preparation.
- Team Support: Support the Head Coach and Assistant Coaches in all aspects of team operations, including practice organization, travel coordination, and game-day preparation.
- Recruiting: Help identify and recruit prospective student-athletes for the program, focusing on goalkeeper talent.
- Video Analysis: Assist with film breakdowns and player evaluations to enhance performance and development.
- Administrative Duties: Manage administrative responsibilities related to the soccer program, including communication with athletes, scheduling, and other tasks as directed by the coaching staff.
- Academic Monitoring: Provide support for student-athletes to ensure academic success, including monitoring academic progress and communicating with the academic support staff.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; must be accepted/enrolled into a graduate program at Tiffin University.
- Playing Experience: Previous experience playing soccer at the collegiate level, with a focus on goalkeeping, is preferred.
- Coaching Experience: Coaching or training experience at the club, high school, or collegiate level is desirable.
- Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for Soccer: A strong desire to develop as a coach and contribute to the success of the program.
- Additional: The person in this position must live locally for the entire academic year and will be expected to work some night and weekend hours.
