Human Resources Specialist
The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to management related to benefits, hiring, and other key Human Resources areas. These duties include assisting with the recruitment and onboarding processes, maintaining accurate employee records, managing internal and external communications for the human resources department, and ensuring HR compliance with the latest laws. The HR specialist often interacts with employees and directs them to the appropriate resources to resolve HR issues.
Responsibilities
1. Performs administrative duties, such as maintaining employee databases and sorting emails for the HR department.
2. Maintains proper records of employee attendance (including sick and vacation) and leave requests to assist with payroll duties.
3. Assists with policy formulation and revisions keeping them up to date.
4. Assists with the hiring process including gathering necessary documents and ensuring compliance.
5. Assists with creating job descriptions and suggesting salary ranges.
6. Data entry and tracking of employee records, time-keeping, and other essential HR functions.
7. Submits online job postings, shortlisting candidates, and scheduling job interviews.
8. Coordinates orientation, onboarding, and training sessions for new employees.
9. Serves as a point of contact, providing smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries.
10. Ensures compliance with employment and labor law.
11. Stays up-to-date and complies with changes in labor legislation both state and federal.
12. Informs employees about additional benefits they are eligible for (e.g., extra vacation days, retirement, etc.).
13. Updates employee records with new hire information and/or changes in employment status.
14. Forecasts hiring needs and ensures recruitment process runs smoothly.
15. Develops, revises, and implements HR policies throughout the organization.
16. Process employees’ queries, communicates queries to Executive Director and supervisors, and responds in a timely manner.
17. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. Knowledge of modern human resource principles
2. Thorough knowledge of state and Federal Laws
3. Ability to plan and manage all areas of HR.
4. Ability to formulate, recommend, and implement human resource policies and procedures.
5. Ability to develop operational and program objectives within the framework of the unit’s mandated function.
6. Data-driven thinking
7. Be fluent in Microsoft Office Suite and internet research.
8. Ability to work with at risk populations.
9. Ability to multi-task
10. Ability to work under deadlines and manage time.
11. Ability to treat confidential information with appropriate discretion.
12. Tech savvy
13. Maintain a high level of professionalism and always conduct business in an ethical manner.
14. Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Minimum Education/Experience
· Three to five years of relevant work experience in human resources.
· Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, interpersonal intelligence
· Attention to detail.
· Good ethics, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to manage employee relations.
· A bachelor's degree in human resources a plus
