Job Description
Our client is seeking an Oracle and SQL database engineer with Systems administration experience to join their IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for user support, system configuration. This role involves a blend of Oracle/SQL database management, engineering tools support, system patching & hardening, and system/software deployment automation. Current/active TS/SCI security clearance required for this position. Must be willing to submit to a CI Polygraph if required.
Essential Functions
Subject Matter Expert responsible for the configuration and maintenance of Oracle and SQL databases while ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and availability.
Implement regular system updates and patches, minimizing vulnerabilities and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
Monitor database health and proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
Develop and maintain scripts and tools for deployment automation, striving for increased efficiency in our operational processes.
Collaborate with engineering teams to understand program requirements and deliver tailored technical solutions.
Demonstrates strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, networking protocols, PowerShell, and security best practices.
Communicate complex technical issues and strategies to management and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Four years of Microsoft Windows and/or LINUX systems administration experience.
Three years of direct experience an Oracle Data base administrator.
Current/active TS/SCI security clearance. Must be willing to submit to a CI Polygraph if required.
Ability to support 30% offsite travel, overtime, and have the ability to lift equipment (20 LBS).
Preferred Additional Skills
Two years of experience supporting LINUX (RedHat REL 7/8, Centos, Ubuntu).
CCNA/CCNP and/or 3 years of experience managing Cisco routers and switches at the enterprise level.
Experience with VMware or similar virtualization software.
Experience with ansible.
Experience with Commvault or similar backup system software.
Experience managing systems under the NIST Risk Management Framework.
