Aircraft Servicer--part time only with guaranteed hours (up to 20 hours per week). There may be full time positions opening soon which will be filled from our part time staff only, so if you're looking for a full time position you must start as part time first.
Job entails operating commercial refueling vehicles and/or fuel system to refuel aircraft on JBLM, WA. Applicants should have at least 1year of documented commercial or military fuels handling experience. You must have a valid state commercial driver’s license (CDL) with at least Class B with Tanker and Hazmat Endorsement. Hours will typically range between 0-16 hours per week depending upon your availability to work.
Job Description:
The duties and responsibilities of the Aircraft Servicer/Fuels Distribution System Operator consist of, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs routine, "cold" refueling operations with commercial aircraft refueling vehicles lAW NFPA 407
- Performs operator inspection and maintenance of fuels equipment and facilities in compliance to pertinent technical orders and Statement of Work (SOW).
- Applies petroleum related technical knowledge to perform complex tasks associated with multiple fuel storage and distribution systems. Fuel systems operations Include receipt, storage, inventory, and issue of conventional aviation/ground fuel products.
- Conducts daily, weekly, monthly, and recurring operator inspections and performs minor operator maintenance on all assigned vehicular refueling equipment and fixed storage distribution systems.
- Performs aviation/ground bulk fuel receipts, operates storage facilities to issue product, and conducts aircraft servicing operations with mobile equipment.
- Performs all petroleum handling and associated duties in strict compliance to governing United States Army, Defense Logistics Agency-Energy and technical orders and policy/procedural directives.
- Maintains personal technical competency in US Army and Performance Work Statement (PWS) prescribed environmental, safety, skill knowledge, training, and performance levels to proficiently and safely execute all assigned fuels handling tasks.
- Performs general housekeeping duties in common/public work areas and fuels facilities.
Qualifications
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- 1 year of relevant work experience
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) with HAZMAT certifications.
- Proficient in Department of Defense or commercial petroleum operations and concepts to include conventional and unconventional aviation fuel servicing and hot refueling operational procedures.
- Proficient in petroleum system inspection and maintenance practices and can identify and mitigate potentially hazardous situations.
- Current and proficient in all operational and safety training associated with hazardous materials, contamination monitors and equipment handling to include the ability to demonstrate safety actions in product handling and identifying and reporting to higher levels.
- Must be able to obtain a Favorable Government Background check.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Must be physically capable of performing all duties including lifting 40 pounds, climbing fuel tanks up to 25 feet high and climbing on tank trucks.
- Able to meet pro-employment and random drug/alcohol testing requirements.
Willing to train provided that you have at least a valid class B CDL with hazmat tanker endorsements.
