SUMMARY:
A maintenance engineer supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of industrial machinery and equipment by performing scheduled maintenance tasks, diagnosing faults, repairing breakdowns, and implementing strategies to optimize equipment lifespan and minimize downtime, all while adhering to safety regulations and standards; they typically have a strong understanding of engineering principles and specific equipment knowledge to effectively troubleshoot and maintain complex systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Preventative maintenance: Conducting routine inspections of machinery to identify potential issues and performing scheduled maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns.
Ø Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnosing equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes, and performing necessary repairs or replacements.
Ø Emergency response: Responding to equipment failures and breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize operational disruptions.
Ø Maintenance planning: Developing and implementing maintenance plans, including spare parts management and scheduling.
Ø Safety compliance: Ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and procedures during maintenance activities.
Ø Data analysis: Monitoring equipment performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Ø Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment condition.
Ø Collaboration: Working with other departments, technicians, and contractors to coordinate maintenance activities.
Ø Direction: Directs maintenance activities and team members to determine work priorities daily.
Ø Requestions: Requesting tools, equipment and supplies required for a team to complete work.
Ø Budget: Monitors budget to ensure expenditure does not exceed budgeted amount.
Ø Safe Work Environment: Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing team members on the importance of 5S and workplace safety.
Ø Training: Conducts training to acquaint team members with company policies and procedures and to ensure OSHA training requirements are maintained.
Ø Communication: Communicates job expectations and coaches/counsels team members.
Ø Other: other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position supervises 4 team members. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit, and carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including applicable safety and OSHA regulations.
