As the Mechanical Lead Architect, you will oversee the Mechanical Engineering design initiatives, encompassing the conceptualization, architecture, design, development, new product introduction (NPI), and ongoing engineering support for our products. Your role will involve providing leadership and mentorship to junior team members while working closely with other essential teams at Toast and with JDM and ODM partners (additionally, you will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with our JDM / OEM partners). Our goal is to create the finest restaurant POS systems for our clientele. Your daily activities may include reviewing design documents and concepts, facilitating discussions among teams including JDM and ODM partners, collaborating on roadmaps with architectural and product stakeholders, and offering technical guidance to fellow team members.

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus / commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.
