Barista / Customer Service / Kittie's Cakes

Kittie’s Café in Bexley is searching for experienced Baristas to join our growing team! Full and part-time positions are available.

Kittie’s Café team members are passionate about customer service and excited to be a friendly, neighborhood barista at an independent coffee-shop. As a team, we invite guests into a warm, welcoming environment and serve moments of delight by making beautiful espresso beverages and offering the made-from-scratch treats that our bakery cooks up each morning.

We are looking for full and part-time baristas that are kind, cheerful, and passionate about working for a small business. Successful baristas are strong communicators. They are detail oriented, thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in a clean work-space. Baristas at Kittie’s Café create memorable experiences for our guests by executing our recipes and processes flawlessly to make beautiful dishes, espresso beverages and cocktails.

Kittie’s Cakes is part of a hospitality organization with over 24 years of experience bringing guests together around a table and we take pride in making our baked goods daily, from scratch at our German Village bakery. Benefits & Compensation:

· $11-12 hour based on experience, tip share on top of this, avg $3 per hour.

Job Duties:

· Develop a knowledge of products served at Kittie’s Café.

· Greet guests and customers with cheer, kindness, and a friendly demeanor.

· Accurately take orders and operate the POS system following all cash and credit handling guidelines.

· Effectively communicate with team members to execute orders, perform duties, and maintain efficient operations of the café.

· Prepare menu items and simple food orders by following clear recipes and processes.

· Answer customer questions about the company, menu items and coffee selections.

· Communicate with the Kittie’s Cakes bakery team to place orders for fresh baked goods.

· Clean, sanitize and maintain café, equipment and china.

· Perform all work duties while maintaining company values.

Required Qualifications:

· Cheerful and friendly demeanor

· One year of experience in a comparable customer service role

Preferred Qualifications:

· 2- 3 years of barista experience

· Experience with Square POS

· Experienced with The La Marzocco Linea PB espresso machine

· Experience training others to make espresso beverages
