Position Description:
The Human Resources Generalist will play a pivotal role in managing all HR functions for a designated group of employees. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including talent acquisition, employee onboarding and offboarding, training and development, performance management, safety, payroll, benefits administration, policy management, workers' compensation, HR operations, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The HR Generalist will also support strategic initiatives, support policy implementation across multiple functional areas, analyze HR data to provide actionable insights, and contribute to internal communication efforts related to employee programs and policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide full employee life cycle support to assigned departments including recruiting, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, safety, leave administration and offboarding.
- Serve as HR point of contact for assigned departments by proactively developing effective partner/employee relationships.
- Support general business operations and organizational development initiatives.
TALENT ACQUISITION
- Execute the full lifecycle recruiting processes including creating job descriptions, reviewing resumes, conducting phone screens, coordinating interviews, extending offers, and advising and engaging with hiring managers through each stage of the process.
- Conduct new employee orientation to engage new employees and assimilate them into the Company.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance across assigned departments and businesses.
- Manage and maintain the integrity of the HRIS system and employee data.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and execution of human resource policies and procedures, as well as acting as the primary contact for general questions and support on company policies and procedures.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS:
- Assist managers and employees in the resolution of employee performance and conduct issues; provide counseling to employees as appropriate. Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and be present during disciplinary meetings.
- Assist with investigations of sexual harassment allegations, discrimination charges, disputes and other sensitive issues.
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT:
- With the support of the HR Manager, act as a consultant and coach for managers and employees concerning organizational structures, talent development, and change implementation.
- Recommend, plan, and execute training programs for teams based on identified gaps. Maintain training records.
- Participate in safety committee and supports safety initiatives as needed including training initiatives.
- Support the delivery of employee training related to compliance, interviewing, labor laws, sexual harassment, safety, etc.
BENEFITS:

PAYROLL:
- Support the payroll process including approving and auditing timecards, obtaining approvals from managers, and timely and accurate completion of all reporting procedures.
HR DATA ANALYSIS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports, professional journals, procedures, or governmental regulations and develop appropriate actions.
- Provide management reports as required.
- Perform other related projects and duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years of HR experience required
- 1-2 years’ experience in recruiting required
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or HR certification a plus
- Must be proficient in HRIS systems, preferably Paylocity
- Ability to build rapport and communicate professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Possess thorough knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to labor and employment, as well as hiring and recruitment.
- Knowledge of California law a plus.
- Must have the ability to organize and prioritize projects in a fast-paced business environment, have excellent time management, demonstrate competency in being a proactive problem solver, and deliver detailed solutions.
- Demonstrate acute attention to detail and high level of discretion handling sensitive employee information.
- Proficient in planning, time management and critical decision-making skills.
- Strong ability to operate in ambiguity and work independently.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be Proficient in Google Suite, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
