Description:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Splash Pad Attendant will help enforce the safety and operations of the splash pad.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets participants as they enter the splash pad area.
- Performs all opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Ensures splash pad daily pass users are not using the pool facility without proper permission.
- Monitor participants during their utilization of the splash pad and enforce all safety rules and guidelines.
- Keeps track of splash pad attendance on the daily tally sheet.
- Assist participants with questions or concerns. Direct participants to the Director of Aquatics if needed.
- Sell concessions, keep track of sales and handle the monetary exchange of those sales.
- Ensures a clean work environment.
- Assist participants with incidents/accidents. Provides First Aid/CPR/AED if needed per training.
- Monitor Splash Pad area for trash and other debris and preform appropriate clean up.
- Ensures a clean and fully stocked bathroom facility in the splash pad area during assigned shift.
- Clean and sanitize per instructions the splash pad area.
- Test and record the water chemicals for the splash pad.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Must complete required Blood Borne Pathogens, Hazard Communications, and Child Abuse Preventions training prior to first scheduled shift.
- Basic First Aid/CPR/AED training preferred. Training is offered by YMCA and must be completed with 15 days of hire.
- Be able to communicated and enforce policies and procedures to members, program participants, and guests.
- Be able to react quickly and properly in emergency situations.
- Be organized.
- Must have enthusiasm and posses excellent customer service skills and excellent communication skills.
- Must possess auditory, verbal, and visual capabilities to adequately communicate to staff, members, guests, and program participants.
