Export/Import Operations Specialist-TX

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Export/Import Operations Specialist to join our International Logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing export documentation and providing excellent customer service. This role requires a thorough understanding of export regulations, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Export Documentation:
• Prepare and review all necessary export documentation including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and bills of lading.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to gather required information for documentation.
• Customer Service:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for export customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Provide updates to customers on shipment status and handle any discrepancies or delays.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Logistics Coordination:
• Schedule and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to facilitate smooth export operations.
• Monitor shipment progress and troubleshoot any logistical challenges.
• Compliance and Reporting:
• Stay current with export laws and regulations, ensuring all activities comply with international trade requirements.
• Prepare and submit export compliance reports as required.
• Maintain accurate records of all export transactions and documentation.
• Problem Solving:
• Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the export process.
• Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to improve export procedures and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in export operations, logistics, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of export regulations and documentation requirements.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with logistics software.
• Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the international logistics industry.
• Familiarity with Incoterms and international shipping practices.
• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
