Familiarity with the flow and structure of styled documents related to shareholder communications (Proxy Statements, Shareholder Reports, Summary / Statutory Prospectuses and standard transactional documents). Experience identifying the overall content structure, flow and arrangement of a document while working with senior team members to normalize outlying style elements. Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of internal teams at level of detail required to identify issues of moderate complexity. Teamwork and cross team collaboration are essential for role. Ability to interpret customer requirements and specifications and know when to apply those items to the style template. Able to communicate with the clarity and precision necessary for the work being performed. Maintain composure and professional demeanor under pressure and the ability to coordinate with the rest of the team in order to adhere to deadlines. Demonstrate the ability to solve moderately complex problems by looking for patterns and applying consistent solutions. Must be able to recognize anomalies in patterns and respond appropriately. Functions and Responsibilities The Production Template Developer, Associate applies design to complex page styles, makes corrections to existing styles, analyzes client supplied assets for style and resolution, facilitates graphics production workflow and works closely with the Production Design department and key members in composition. Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned. Collaborate on XPP style template builds that utilize Toppan Merrill standard tagging. On occasion, work with senior team members to continue application of newly developed functionality to un-styled content. On occasion, participate in the delivery of training materials. Communicate clear and detailed instructions related to color, fonts and dimensions to composition, proofreading and graphics team members. Adhere to tight schedules and help uphold high design quality standards. Qualifications The successful candidate will have a code-driven typesetting/composition background with experience converting and tagging data. Preference given to those with experience developing XPP style bundles (or individual specs). A minimum of 2 years of Financial Printing typesetting experience. A minimum of 1 year of experience utilizing built-in Acrobat preflight functionality, guides and measurement tools. Additional consideration will be given to those with experience using Enfocus Pitstop. Some familiarity using Adobe Illustrator and or InDesign. Familiarity with Perl/TK programming is beneficial. * Styling (x)HTML using CSS is beneficial but not required.* Previous use of XML editors such as Oxygen or XMetal is also beneficial but not required. * __________ * There will be on-the job training that covers these items. Work Environment This position is located on-site at the NYC, STP and TOR offices and is temporarily eligible for telecommuting. The environment can be stressful during peak seasons with pressure to complete multiple priorities. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends is required.
