Job Description
Topsarge Business Solutions is hiring a Unmanned Maritime Systems (UMS) Instructor to support advanced Navy EOD and MCM training at EODTEU-1, located on Naval Base Point Loma in San Diego. This role focuses on preparing Navy EOD personnel to operate, maintain, and employ unmanned platforms in support of mine warfare and expeditionary missions.
As a UMS Instructor, you will deliver hands-on training in the use of unmanned undersea vehicles (UUVs), remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), sensors, and related systems. This includes both classroom instruction and waterfront practical training. If you have a background in unmanned systems, robotics, or underwater EOD operations, and want to play a direct role in shaping naval readiness, this opportunity is for you.
Responsibilities
- Instruct Navy personnel on the operation, mission planning, and post-mission analysis (PMA) of UMS platforms.
- Support training in unmanned system deployment, sensor interpretation, and mine countermeasure (MCM) tasks.
- Deliver instruction in accordance with Navy standards and safety regulations.
- Participate in scenario-based exercises and provide operational mentorship.
- Maintain training materials, equipment, and student evaluations.
- Collaborate with EOD and technical experts to evolve curriculum as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 5 years of operational experience with UMS platforms, preferably in a Navy EOD, MDSU, or MCM role.
- Prior experience deploying or maintaining UUVs, ROVs, or similar underwater robotic systems.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a SECRET security clearance.
- Ability to pass Navy high-risk instructor medical and safety certifications.
- Physically able to conduct waterfront and field-based training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Navy instructor experience or knowledge of NAVEDTRA instructional standards.
- Familiarity with systems like MK 18 MOD 1/2, REMUS, or similar expeditionary UMS.
- Experience with data analysis and PMA tools.
- Knowledge of mine warfare (MIW) and expeditionary support tactics.
