Position Overview:
As an Assistant Project Manager at Total Concrete Services, you will work closely with the Project Manager to oversee all administrative and collaborative aspects of construction projects, from pre-construction planning to project completion. This includes managing budgets, construction documents, and client relationships to ensure successful project delivery. You will be responsible for coordinating with architects, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure all project specifications and requirements are met. The Assistant Project Manager must clearly understand project scope of work responsibilities and communicate those to field personnel as well as address changes to the scope of work.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
· Help resolve any conflicts or issues that arise during the course of a project.
· Maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors to ensure project success.
· Follow through with tasks assigned by the Project Management Team.
Job Start
· Create budget for job start and accounting department.
· Acquire plans/specs, compare to bid documents
· Understand special requirements for safety, citizenship, insurance certificates, payment/performance bonds, Prevailing Wages, tax exemptions
· Create, submit, and communicate RFI’s, sending COR if required
· Request submittals from suppliers and/or gather and verify product data
· Request mix designs from supplier accurately and communicate the mix designs to Dispatcher
· Coordinate subs, material acquisition and permits with superintendent
On-going projects
· Receive plan/project changes, create CORs in a timely manner
· Communicate changes and COR status with field personnel
· Communicate approved CORs with Accounting department.
· Communicate regularly with Foreman and review timesheets when available
· Perform site visits regularly
· Review project invoices for pricing confirmation, correct tax/waiver charges, quantities, and change order work.
· Assist with other facets of a project or within the company as requested
Position Requirements:
· Job Experience in construction management, engineering or related fields, or Bachelor’s degree.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact and maintain rapport with subcontractors/vendors, customers, work well in teams, and communicate effectively with staff.
· Have a strong attention to detail, organization skills and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, often within tight deadlines.
· Ability to read plans.
