Position Overview: The Business Development Manager is a key driver of Total-Western’s growth strategy, responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating lasting client relationships, and spearheading strategic initiatives. This role combines market research, relationship management, and strategic planning to expand our footprint in the industrial construction and maintenance sectors. The ideal candidate is a proactive, results-oriented professional with a strong network, capable of negotiating high-stakes contracts and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic business development plans to increase market share and revenue.
Opportunity Identification: Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities across targeted industries, including oil and gas, petrochemical, and renewable energy.
Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
Collaborative Proposal Development: Collaborate with internal teams to tailor proposals and solutions that meet client needs and support operational excellence.
Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations, proposal development, and client presentations to secure new projects.
Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to refine strategies and ensure competitive advantage.
Performance Tracking: Track performance metrics and adjust strategies based on analysis and feedback.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles, preferably within industrial construction or similar sectors.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth through effective negotiation and relationship management.
Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in the industrial construction, manufacturing, high-tech, oil and gas, petrochemical, or renewable energy industries.
Established network within the market with key large General Contractors and EPC firms.
Familiarity with CRM software and sales analytics tools to track and enhance business development efforts.
Work Environment: Hybrid role combining office-based work with frequent travel to client sites, industry events, and networking meetings. Fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires adaptability and proactive problem-solving.
Reporting Structure: The Business Development Manager reports directly to the Director of Commercial Operations and collaborates closely with marketing, operations, and project management teams to drive company growth.
Compensation & Benefits:
Base salary range: Approximately $100,000 – $140,000 per year, complemented by bonus potential based on performance.
