What are the responsibilities and job description for the Slot Technician position at Toucan Gaming?

Toucan Gaming seeks a Slot Technician to manage installations, repairs, and maintenance of video poker and amusement equipment throughout the New Orleans area. As a Slot Technician you will be the face of our company and on the front lines performing basic troubleshooting to keep things running smoothly for our customers. All necessary training will occur on the job however pay is dependent on experience with video poker and amusement repair. Tools, company phones, and vehicles and fuel cards are provided for use during work shifts. The company covers all expenses related to required gaming permitting for employees who meet the requirements set forth by Louisiana State Police for Video Poker Technician Permits.
General Summary of Job Duties

Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Casino room setup and maintenance, machine repair, repair of electronic casino signs, inventory of parts, cash collection, and vehicle maintenance.

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with guests, fellow employees, and vendors.
  • Promotes a positive work atmosphere including support and assistance to all employees and management staff.
  • Promotes operational consistency among all regional locations. Maintain an open line of communication with Management.
  • Adhere to all appearance and uniform standards.
  • Establish and maintain a thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future.
  • Timely completion of maintenance and repairs of buildings, equipment and grounds (facilities & equipment) and on-route collection procedures.
  • Responsible for all aspects of device repair, machine conversions, changing class, routine preventative maintenance, and EPROM replacement.
  • Moves bases and machines as necessary among properties.
  • Responsible for all furniture, fixture, and equipment placement and maintenance inside the establishments.
  • Responsible for adhering to and keeping up with all gaming regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Responsible for completion of all necessary end-of-day paperwork and forwarding any end-of-day reports to the appropriate personnel.
  • Responsible for inventory and tracking of parts on hand.
  • Responsible for maintaining assigned company vehicles, including but not limited to: repairs and maintenance, oil changes, cleaning, etc.
  • Attend regular Gaming Department meetings and share knowledge, work, and repair methods with staff.
  • Responsible for adhering to all Company policies and procedures regarding the maintenance of key control of all gaming devices.
  • Must establish a thorough familiarity with all test equipment and support equipment (currency counters, kiosks, ATMs, site controllers, and other related equipment).
  • Responsible for adhering to and keeping up with all gaming regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Identifies inefficiencies and possible solutions to correct inefficiencies.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Skills, Education,n and Other Requirements

  • Must have completed Tech 1 and/or Tech 2 Video Poker certification.
  • Must be literate and fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Proficient use of Computer, phone, fax, copier, and 10-Key calculator, Basic PC skills, specifically Microsoft Office products.
  • Frequent travel is required for this position.
Required Work Cards

  • Identification that establishes identity and the right to work in the United States.
  • Valid LouisianaDriver'sr License and acceptable driving history
  • All Casino personnel including Slot Technicians/Supervisors, Operations Managers, and Casino Associates/Supervisors are required to possess a valid video draw poker employee permit. Tech. 2 permits are required for advanced-ranked Slot Technicians and Supervisors. Failure to maintain a valid Video Draw Poker permit or an identification card as mentioned above may result in suspension and up to termination of employment.
