Position Overview:
The Town of Avon, Colorado, is accepting applications for a Recreation - Guest Services Attendant I
The Guest Service Attendant I- Regular Part-Time position is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the recreation center front desk and seasonal ice rink activities including customer relations, pass sales, daily admission sales, sale of retail items, program registrations, and fitness floor supervision and all monetary transactions for the Avon Recreation Center.

Essential Functions:
- Ensures visitors to the Avon Recreation Center are greeted and served in a positive, professional
manner and are provided correct information regarding programs, memberships, and facilities - Manages, maintains, and reports damage to fitness/rental equipment including ice skates and all other
miscellaneous fitness/building equipment - Responsible for registration processing procedures for all activities, passes, and requests
- Responsible for sales and restocking of retail items and concessions
- Processes, calculates, and balances daily revenues and cash drawer within $20.00
- Possesses a clear understanding of financial transactions including daily revenues, accurate daily
balances, and knowledge of cash management - Informs supervisors and parks departments of damage to equipment including injuries
- Communicates areas in need of special attention as well as any missing items to supervisor
- Demonstrates consistent, fair, and equal treatment in enforcing rules in a polite manner and a positive
attitude - Works closely with the Recreation Services Supervisor and Recreation Services Coordinator to ensure
quality communication between programs and other divisions - Attends In-Service trainings/meetings once a month

Qualifications
- Considerable knowledge of necessary safety work environment and procedures
- Knowledge of rules, policies, Town of Avon Mission Statement and standard operating procedures for
the Avon Recreation Center and Ice Rink - General knowledge of Special Events in Harry A. Nottingham Park
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
- Ability to accurately count and record money
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to interact with the public and co-workers in a professional and positive manner
- Work may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to become CPR/AED/First Aid certified within 30 days of hire.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Publisher, Excel, and Outlook) and ability to operate basic
office equipment including a computer, fax, telephone, etc - Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing; Spanish is considered a plus
- Must be 16 years of age
Special Requirements: A 10th Grade education or 16 years of age with considerable knowledge
of safety requirements and procedures and customer service experience is required. Any equivalent
combination of training and experience that provides evidence of required knowledge, skills and abilities may
be considered.
