Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Customer Service Representative, this position facilitates front-line operations at the Berthoud Recreation Center by greeting guests and providing customer service. The Recreation Attendant- Front Desk, provides information to patrons regarding the recreation center, programs, services and events. This position must also process class and activity registrations, sell facility memberships, and schedule facility/park shelter rentals. Hours per week will consist of 10-25 hours, must be available for shifts 8am – 4:30pm, evenings from 4:30-9:15pm and be available on weekends.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensures a quality visit to the Berthoud Recreation Center guests by receiving and greeting individuals and professionally assisting them as needed.
  • Provides quality customer service tasks for these areas as key front-line operational staff member. (Tasks to include but not limited to: guest check-in, sales, facility reservations, activity registrations, equipment checkout, answering phones, pro shop and merchandise sales.)
  • Processes transactions on affiliated computerized cash register and controls daily use revenues by collecting correct fees for daily admissions, memberships, activity registrations, facility reservations, extended used passes, adult athletic fees, merchandise and pro shop.
  • Prepares shift deposits and drawers at beginning/end of shift.
  • Disseminates and promotes Berthoud Recreation program information; directs public to proper locations; educates users of potential opportunities and services available; provides general facility use instructions; enforces facility policy and procedure by informing guests of existing policies; observes guest use and informs supervisors of improper facility or equipment use.
  • Provides clerical support by assisting with maintenance of various records and sorting/filing needs.
  • Resolves administrative concerns by applying appropriate policies and procedures through positive interaction and involvement with Operations Team.
  • Conduct facility tours.
  • Have flexibility and be able to work holidays and weekends.
  • Assist with special events.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should understand general office software, including word processing and spreadsheets. Also a basic understanding of registration and staff scheduling software is required.

  • Will have excellent customer service skills, a pleasant personality, and enjoy interacting with guests.
  • Will know modern office procedures, methods and general office equipment such as: computer, copier, fax, telephone, etc.
  • Will be proficient with applicable computer software applications: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Possess basic cash handling skills and have the ability to operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Has the ability to perform multiple functions at once and the ability to handle the public in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally; establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public.

Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Work Experience

  • 1-3 years of customer service experience required

Certificates And Licenses

  • Current certification in CPR, First Aid and AED or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire required
