What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parks Maintenance Crew - Summer Seasonal position at Town of Breckenridge?
Duties include, but are not limited to: maintaining public grounds by planting, weeding, pruning, raking, mowing, repairing, and installing irrigation systems; picking up litter, sweeping, and general caretaking; preparing athletic fields to specific dimensions by measuring, raking, dragging, chalking, and painting lines; assisting in the upkeep and preventive maintenance of specialized Town property, (i.e. street lights, signs, benches, foot bridges, play equipment, trash/recycle receptacles, etc.).

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Must be available and able to work through the Summer Seasonal period established by the Parks Division, which generally extends through late September/early October, at the discretion of management.
- A valid Colorado driver's license is required within the first five (5) days of employment.
- An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record is required at time of hire.
- One (1) or more years of customer service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of accepted landscape maintenance practices related to irrigation systems, turf, plant and flower beds, parks and athletic fields, and experience with the appropriate tools and safety practices.
- Specialized training in the areas of irrigation, construction, pesticide application, and/or equipment operation preferred.
- Pesticide Application Certification preferred.
- Ability to operate specific equipment such as light work trucks, fluid dispensing systems, general hand and power tools, power mowers, scaffoldings and ladders, etc.
Hiring Pay Range: $20.00 - $21.25 per hour.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The Parks Division is primarily looking for Full-Time and a few Part-Time schedules. Full-Time schedules typically consists of four (4) - 10 hour shifts each week between the hours of 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with consecutive days off. Must be able to work shifts which could include weekends, holidays, and special shifts up to 40 hours per week, or as needed based on organizational needs.
