Join our Team! The Town is currently recruiting for Parks Maintenance Workers for the 2025 Summer Season! This position runs approximately May - September.
This position is open until filled with first review on 03/18/25 and applications being reviewed approximately weekly thereafter.
The Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker position receives training in a variety of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled laboring tasks in support of the operation and maintenance of Town parks, trails, open space, irrigation systems, landscaped areas, and grounds.
The below list is intended to be illustrative of the responsibilities of the position and not all encompassing. The Town may change these duties at any time.
- Assists Parks staff with a variety of routine maintenance and construction activities to include mowing, trimming, fertilizing, aerating, seeding, top-dressing, trash collection, turf management, irrigation, field maintenance, playground maintenance, trails maintenance, general forestry, open space and horticultural assignments.
- Performs routine safety checks of equipment and minor maintenance activities on vehicles and equipment and maintains records of activities.
- May operate light duty equipment to perform related maintenance and construction assignments.
- Performs a variety heavy laboring activities including the use of hand tools, light power equipment and construction and maintenance equipment.
- Assists with special events and traffic control as needed.
- Performs data entry of information, maintenance logs and other data.
- Depending on level and tenure, may serve as a lead worker for seasonal staff.
- Maintains a safe working environment to include working in traffic and congested areas, confined spaces and all work environments.
- Performs snow removal activities either by hand, or small equipment as assigned.
- Performs grounds maintenance, including irrigation, landscaping.
- Performs horticulture duties including planting, weeding, fertilizing, and general landscape maintenance.
- Construction of wood, concrete, and miscellaneous facilities involving carpentry, painting, and plumbing.
- Handles hazardous materials and chemicals including use of self-contained breathing apparatuses or respirators.
- Performs other related work as required or assigned.
- Valid Colorado Driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

- Knowledge and ability to use or learn to use hand tools.
- Ability to use or learn to use equipment, such as but not limited to hand tools, light to equipment, trailers, small to large walk behind and riding mowers, sprayers, compressors and tractors with implements.
- Ability to understand written and oral instructions and ability to solve basic mathematical problems.
- Ability to operate various types of tools and equipment associated with maintenance; lift, carry, and loading/unloading heavy items and materials.
- Ability to remove snow by hand with shovel and snow blower.
- Ability to develop and maintain accurate records and prepare reports when necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and follow oral and written instructions.

Seas 1: 17.50 - 20.50 per hour
Seas 2: 19.00 - 22.00 per hour
