The Town of Cohasset, an active waterfront community on the South Shore, is looking for an Outreach Manager for our Elder Affairs Department . The team at the Town of Cohasset is known for being dynamic and collaborative, and we truly enjoy providing services to the community. We are seeking a new team member who can hit the ground running and work in partnership with our talented colleagues and community, bringing new ideas and positive initiatives.

General Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Elder Affairs, this role ensures the well-being and autonomy of older adults by providing outreach, immediate support, and coordination of essential services. The Outreach Manager will identify and address disparities, conduct needs assessments, and offer crisis intervention, ensuring seniors have equitable access to resources. By collaborating with local agencies and service providers, this role bridges gaps in care, promotes community integration, and advocates for seniors' rights.

Qualifications :

  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field is preferred; a Master's degree is preferred. LICSW or LCSW licensure is highly preferred
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in health and human services, with a focus on outreach, social work, advocacy, program development, and client support. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • SHINE certification is preferred but not required at the time of hire. Certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse, at-risk populations, and a proven ability to engage, support, and advocate for seniors and vulnerable groups with sensitivity and professionalism.

Special Requirements :

  • Must obtain SHINE certification within six (6) months of hire.
  • Must possess a valid Massachusetts driver's license.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, cloud and database programs.
  • In-depth understanding of senior citizen needs and preferences.
  • Strong judgment to address challenges effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently and efficiently.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service and collaboration skills with staff, volunteers, and clients.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to handle multiple interruptions without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Knowledgeable about community resources and adept at interacting with caregivers, families, and other stakeholders professionally and confidentially.
  • Salary : 35 hours a week, $32.62 / - per hour commensurate with experience and a generous benefits package
