Under direct supervision, performs skilled and semi-skilled technical work while being trained in the operation of a water or sewer treatment plant. Is responsible for learning the duties involved in plant operation, necessary laboratory analysis, established procedures, and routine maintenance and servicing of equipment and machinery under the guidance of a Plant Operator I or II. Reports to Superintendent of Operations

Education & Experience :
Required
- Graduation from high school or vocational school and two (2) or more months of experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical machinery similar to that in a water and sewer treatment plant, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

Possession of a driver's license required with an acceptable driving record.Driver's license must not have been suspended within five (5) years of the date of this application (Not Insurance related).Ability to obtain a Class "C" water or wastewater plant operators license from the Florida Department of Professional Regulation within 18 months of employment.Preferred :
A valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an air brake endorsement as issued by the State of Florida.Special Requirements
