This hourly supervisory position, Recreation Supervisor – Events, is primarily responsible for the creation, planning, development, implementation, supervision, and post-event evaluation of Town of Frisco events. This position requires an accountable, organized, team orientated person with strong communication skills who enjoys planning and executing special events. This position works weekends, and all major holidays supporting our Town events. As the Recreation Supervisor, you work closely with the events team setting up and maintaining event venues, including stage construction, racecourses, tents, water stations, satellite bar and food stations, etc., and overall site preparation to ensure a smooth event execution.Pay Grade 5: Budgeted hiring wage range = $26.71 - $32.80Full wage range* = Min: $26.71, Mid: 32.80, Max: 38.89*wage offer based on specific job experience and education
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Works as the Event/Race Director for the Town of Frisco’s special events: plans, prepares, and supervises year- round special events, including, but not limited to, community events, athletic events, concerts, and more.Provide leadership, motivation, direction, and support to the Programs & Events Lead and the Special Event team throughout the delivering and planning of events. Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates Special Events Team Members and volunteers. Establishes the event staff and training schedules. Handle all logistical arrangements of special events to include coordination with other Town Departments (PW, PD, etc.); paying attention to safety / risk management needs; obtaining appropriate equipment: and submit permits, insurance, and applications to insure compliance with all Municipal, State and Federal agencies. Including utilizing Rec Trac software to successfully run rosters, complete online registration, refunds, and more.Set, communicate, and maintain timelines and priorities for every event.Ensures and other Town websites are accurate and updated on a regular basis.Coordinate infrastructure and logistics that ensures safe and successful events.Responsible for publicity of special events by interfacing with the marketing and communications department to achieve effective advertising, promotions, specials, and incentives. This may include seeking sponsorship for events, distributing publicity products (ads, posters, etc.), and general communication with community parties affected by special events.Adheres to event procedures, including registration, community and participant interaction, and conflict resolution. Solicit and coordinate vendors, musicians, non-profits, and outside event support to manage and produce special events. Evaluates existing special events for future recommendations.Interacts with guests and event participants in a positive, professional manner, utilizing excellent guest service standards. Flexibility to work across the Recreation Department to assist Marina, Programs, Tubing, and Nordic operations.Maintains professional attitudes and relationships with participants and co-workers. Other Responsibilities: Adheres to Town of Frisco policies, mission, vision, values, competencies, standards, and regulations including but not limited to proper attire, safety procedures, and overall professionalism.Attends Town and departmental training and meetings as appropriate or assigned.Ability to function and make good decisions in the absence of a supervisor.Communicates with Town of Frisco employees, citizens, customers and vendors in a professional, courteous and timely manner both verbally and in writing.Performs other job duties/responsibilities as assigned by management.
