The Town of Ipswich seeks qualified applicants for the position of Director of Planning and Development in its Department of Planning & Development.
The Director of Planning and Development (also referred to within as the “Planning Director”) is a key member of the Town Manager’s leadership team. Under the Manager’s general direction, the individual in this position plans, organizes, and directs the operations and staff activities of the nine-person, multi-disciplined Planning and Development Department. Responsibilities include: developing and implementing departmental goals, plans and priorities in response to town needs; undertaking economic development initiatives to achieve appropriate growth and regional competitiveness; ensuring that staff provides adequate support to boards and commissions served by the department; seeking grants for economic development, planning and other departmental initiatives, and working with staff to administer them.
Anticipated starting salary of $105,000 DOQ.
