Senior Services Transportation Coordinator
The Town of Windsor introduces an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Transportation Coordinator to join our Senior Services Transportation team. Connecticuts first town is strategically located on the beautiful Farmington and Connecticut Rivers between Hartford and Springfield, Massachusetts and is home to over 29,000 residents and a wide array of local and corporate businesses.
The Senior Services Transportation Coordinator performs a variety of supervisory, administrative, programming, and technical work in the supervision, coordination, implementation and planning of the towns senior services programs, including having primary responsibilities for the Transportation Unit.
The hiring range for this position is $63,700 to $66,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The Position
The successful candidate will be able to oversee a multifaceted program in a diverse community, plan and implement transportation services and programs for seniors, communicate and advocate effectively, and achieve goals. Strong facilitation skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, town council and the general public are required. Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in human services or related field and two years related experience and/or training; or any equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the area of transportation and/or dispatching
- Knowledge of transportation scheduling, planning routes and dispatching drivers
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Must have a valid PSL or CDL with a good driving record, and be subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with regulations and town policies. Must be able to obtain first aid, CPR and AED certifications within six months of appointment.
- Successful completion of the Towns background and drug screening (includes testing for marijuana)
