Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Leader to join our Accounting/Finance team. This key role will directly assist the CFO with a variety of accounting and financial tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of all areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working closely with senior leadership.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Functions:
- Assist the CFO in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Help manage cash flow forecasting and tracking of financial performance.
- Prepare tax filings and coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Finance and Accounting team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

- Participates in special projects or improvements to streamline accounting processes.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (experience with [software name] preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Prior experience assisting with audits, tax filings, and financial reporting
- Prior experience in a mortgage lending environment preferred.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
The majority of the work performed is in a typical remote office environment. It requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking. The team member may be required to lift up to 10 pounds. The work requires significant use of computers, phones, and general office equipment. The employee needs adequate visual acuity and the ability to grasp and handle objects. The employee must also be able to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on the telephone.
