The Director of eCommerce Media is a critical leadership role responsible for managing and growing the Commerce Media team, driving strategic planning, activation, and innovation across retail media channels. This individual will ensure best-in-class execution and integration of media strategies to meet client objectives while mentoring a high-performing team.
Core Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership
Collaborate with the SVP to set and implement the strategic vision for eCommerce Media within the agency.
Lead the planning and execution of integrated retail media campaigns across platforms such as Amazon, Walmart Connect, Kroger, Target Roundel, and Criteo.
Stay ahead of marketplace trends and retail media advancements to position TPN as a thought leader in eCommerce Media.
Client Management
Act as the primary point of contact for select high-priority clients, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of media strategies with business objectives.
Develop tailored strategic solutions to address client goals, leveraging data-driven insights and retail media expertise.
Partner with shopper marketing teams to integrate omnichannel strategies with key retail partners.
Operational Excellence
Oversee performance forecasting, budget allocation, and reporting to ensure campaigns meet or exceed KPIs.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the eCommerce Media team, including team resourcing, workflow optimization, and adherence to best practices.
Ensure the use of cutting-edge tools (e.g., Pacvue, Skai) to drive efficiency and performance in campaign management.
Team Development
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of commerce media specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
Provide training and development opportunities to build the team’s expertise in retail media and integrated commerce strategies.
Support recruitment and onboarding efforts to grow the Commerce Media team in line with business needs.
Business Growth
Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and develop new business opportunities within the commerce media space.
Partner with agency leadership and cross-functional teams (Creative, Strategy, Technology) to deliver connected commerce plans.
Support pitches and proposals for new business prospects as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
6 years of experience in digital media, with 5 years specifically in retail media (e.g., Amazon, Walmart, Kroger).
Proven success in managing teams of 5 FTEs and delivering high-performance results.
Strong knowledge of retail media platforms, tools, and processes, including media planning, activation, and measurement.
Hands-on experience with campaign automation tools (e.g., Pacvue, Skai) and media research tools (e.g., Edge, Gradient, Analytics Index).
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset.
Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
