JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager, Contracts will oversee daily department operations and drive process improvements. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include drafting and reviewing complex lease agreements, supervising team workflows, assisting with the resolution of billing discrepancies, conducting contract analysis and summarizing key commercial terms, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. The Manager, Contracts will also play a critical role in enhancing systems and processes to support the organization’s growth and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Draft and Review Agreements
- Prepare and review complex (non-standard) lease agreements, including finance leases, operating leases, subleases, and chassis pool agreements.
- Oversee the review and quality assurance of lease drafts and system updates to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Team Management
- Provide mentorship and performance management for the Contracts department which currently consists of one Sr. Contracts Administrator.
- Oversee and optimize daily departmental workflows, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
- System and Process Management
- Oversee updates to contract and billing terms in leasing systems and oversee system enhancements, including requirement gathering and testing.
Additional Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute contract-related reports to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with internal control standards and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Perform document management tasks, including processing documents for countersignature and ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Contribute to special projects and ad hoc requests to support departmental and organizational goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in contract administration, drafting, and legal operations.
- Experience in leasing, intermodal, or transportation industries preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to in-house contract management systems.
- Strong technical skills with a focus on process optimization and systems enhancements.
