We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring timely and efficient estimation processes, and contributing to the overall success of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor and equipment using current market conditions.
- Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, jobsite walkthroughs, coordinate meetings with project teams.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs from project drawings and specifications to determine the necessary resources.
- Solicit quotes from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring competitive pricing and quality service.
- Compile and submit comprehensive bids and proposals for projects, including clear and concise cost breakdowns.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets based on preliminary phased plans and specifications.
- Work closely with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure alignment between estimates and project goals.
- Monitor project costs and track deviations from the estimated budget, providing recommendations for cost control.
- Communicate with clients, design teams, and project stakeholders to clarify any questions related to estimates and project costs.
- Perform cost analysis and comparisons with historical data and industry standards to ensure competitive pricing.
Skills:
- Demonstrate commitment to achieving the organization's goals and objectives.
- Strong computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff
- Knowledge of all facets of the construction process
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate strong mathematical skills
