We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist managing and processing invoices and payments to vendors, ensuring timely and accurate payments while maintaining accurate financial records. This includes verifying invoice accuracy, coding them for proper entry, and preparing payments.
Responsibilities
- Invoice Processing: Receiving, logging, and processing invoices from vendors.
- Verification: Verifying invoice accuracy against purchase orders and contracts
- Payment Processing: Preparing and issuing payments to vendors, often including electronic payments
- Reconciliation: Reconciling accounts payable balances with vendor statements
- Financial Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant financial regulations
- Communication: Communicating with vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payment.
- Data Entry: Entering data into the accounting system accurately and efficiently.
- Problem Solving: Addressing issues and discrepancies related to invoices and payments
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy: Essential for maintaining accurate financial records.
- Good communication skills: For interacting with vendors and colleagues
- Organizational skills: To manage a large volume of invoices and payments.
- Basic accounting knowledge: Understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Hands-on experience in operating accounting software, electronic banking knowledge/experience
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- Reconciling processed payments/ Expense reports through verification of entries and other supporting documents to balances
- Computer literacy: Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and other software.
- Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies and issues.
- Continuous improvement of the payment process
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
