Overview
This position reports to the Accounting Manager and play a crucial role within the Accounting Department by performing a variety of accounting and financial reporting tasks while supporting overall financial accuracy and internal control efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles and the ability work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Perform reconciliations for multiple bank accounts and general ledger accounts
- Prepare and record accounts payable transactions in compliance with accounting policies.
- Prepare and analyze balance sheet account reconciliations
- Contribute to process improvements and internal control initiatives
- Manage the processing, reporting and maintenance of Unclaimed Property in accordance with state regulations.
- Perform additional accounting duties and special projects as assigned to support departmental goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field required
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or insurance industry setting.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft excel and other Microsoft applications
- Property/Casualty insurance industry experience is a plus
