Job Qualifications
Education:
BS degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline
License/Certification:
CPA (Preferred)
License (Preferred)
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager
10 years of accounting and financial experience preferred
Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
Proven knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP), practices, standards, laws, and regulations
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to direct and supervise
BS degree in Accounting or Finance
Environmental and Working Conditions:
Works in an office environment, promoting functioning and coordination with all agency activities to insure the highest level of professional care. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Physical and Mental Effort:
Must be able to work under stressful conditions and time constraints of the agency or projects.
Essential Functions:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including but not limited to:
month and end-year process
accounts payable/receivable
cash receipts
general ledger
payroll and utilities
treasury
cash forecasting
revenue and expenditure variance analysis
capital assets reconciliations
check runs
fixed asset activity
debt activity
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
Lead efforts to integrate acquired businesses into Traditions processes
Support completion of annual audits
Provide recommendations, improve systems and procedures, and initiate corrective actions
Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
Meet financial accounting objectives
Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
