This person will work with the other team members and their supervisor on getting pricing out to the customer, reviewing specifications and structural engineering plans, get pricing from manufacturers for estimates / quotes preparation, and help with Request for Quotes. Responsibilities : Review DOT websites for new jobs Prepare and review quotes / estimate sheets in a clear, concise and well justified format for client submission Field customer requests for quotes and create detailed breakdowns of project costs Interact with suppliers and / or purchasing department to obtain pricing information, and secure competitive quotes for materials and components as needed Review specifications / structural engineering plans and send them to manufacturers to help prepare quotes / estimates while accurately assessing : Required labor hours and skill levels Equipment costs Quantity, size, and cost of materials Overhead Market fluctuations Profit margins Potential risks & uncertainties Contingency planning into costs Work in applicable software to track schedules and deadlines Proactively partner with other team members and / or management to sort out pricing internally by reviewing mark-ups and quotes Maintain in-depth, working knowledge of relevant technical standards, manufacturing processes, and industry practices Serve as a critical link between engineering, purchasing, and project management by ensuring cost estimates are aligned with client needs and project requirements.
