Dickies Arena is a 14,000 seat, spectacular multipurpose venue located adjacent to the Will Rogers Memorial Center campus in Fort Worth, Texas. The arena is owned by the City of Fort Worth and managed by the not-for-profit operating entity, Trail Drive Management Corp (TDMC). The state-of-the-art arena hosts concerts, sporting events and family entertainment, and is the new home to Fort Worth Stock Show rodeo performances.

Job Description:
The Director of Human Resources & Payroll will develop and direct all necessary policies and activities to support an effective working and training environment that prioritizes the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the workforce. This includes enhancing and overseeing all hiring and employee evaluation processes, leading diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and ensuring legal compliance with all federal/state/local laws. The Director will oversee and direct all initiatives falling under the umbrella of HR & Payroll. This position will advise and oversee delivery of all employee related programs including payroll administration, talent management, performance management, benefits programs, and organization design and development. In addition, this position will work alongside senior management to create a culture where talent can grow, develop and achieve outstanding business performance.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Ensure legal compliance and the implementation of the companys mission.
- Develop and manage all HR & Payroll programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition and morale; and training and development.
- Review all 941 Tax returns
- Provide annual mandatory training for management teams on workplace conduct, sexual harassment, diversity, and reporting procedures.
- Manage, budget and reconcile all benefit programs including but not limited to Medical, Dental, and 401k.
- Oversee yearly performance evaluations for all managers and full time staff.
- Foster a positive work environment through proactive employee relations and conflict resolution initiatives.
- Oversee and participate in all employee discipline and termination actions.
- Develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices, communicating regulatory changes to management and supporting staff development.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommended best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Track the industry evolution of best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law.
- Enhance productivity by aligning HR metrics with operational goals and partnering with operations leaders.
- Ensure all compliance signage is updated
- Process and review Payroll on a bi-weekly basis for accuracy
- Process and review all Census information for 401k
- File 5500 for 401k
- Complete Other yearly payroll tax returns including but not limited to PCORI fees
- Compile salary and wage information for workers comp audits
- Develop and manage yearly budget covering all HR & Payroll related expenditures.
- Develop and maintain both the HR SOP and the Payroll SOP
- Perform other duties as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 10 years experience in industry and/or similar work environment
- Preferred 5 years of arena industry experience
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experiences.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft office applications and Outlook, Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
- Ability to make sound business/operational decisions quickly and under pressure.
- Ability to collaborate with all levels of management
- Ability to work nights, weekends, events and holidays as required.
- Strong strategic thinking and creative problem solving skills.
- Strong sense of judgement, tact and diplomacy.
- Strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and APA CP highly preferred.
