DSP (Direct Support Professional)

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their independence and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with clients to assist them in daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being while respecting their rights and dignity.

Duties

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring adherence to established goals.
• Monitor and document vital signs as needed, reporting any changes in health status to the appropriate personnel.
• Administer medications according to prescribed schedules while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide support in social and recreational activities, encouraging participation and engagement.
• Advocate for resident rights, ensuring that individuals are treated with respect and dignity at all times.
• Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety protocols.
• Participate in training sessions and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of first aid procedures and CPR certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with care plans and medication administration protocols is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of the clients.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Understanding of resident rights and commitment to advocating for clients' needs.
• A background in nursing or healthcare-related fields is beneficial but not mandatory.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
