Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. Duties
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring adherence to established goals.
- Monitor and document vital signs as needed, reporting any changes in health status to the appropriate personnel.
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide support in social and recreational activities, encouraging participation and engagement.
- Advocate for resident rights, ensuring that individuals are treated with respect and dignity at all times.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Participate in training sessions and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and CPR certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with care plans and medication administration protocols is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of the clients.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Understanding of resident rights and commitment to advocating for clients' needs.
- A background in nursing or healthcare-related fields is beneficial but not mandatory.
