Transition Bikes is seeking Credit Specialist to join our finance team. This role will be key in managing credit assessments, collections, and accounts receivable processes. You will also provide essential support in bookkeeping, treasury management, and inventory coordination within our retail environment. Your work will ensure the accuracy of financial records and help streamline operations, contributing to the overall success of our business.


What You'll Do:


Credit and Risk Management

  • Analyze financial data, credit reports, and customer histories to assess creditworthiness and recommend or adjust credit limits.
  • Administer and maintain the credit application process, including document reviews, reference checks, and presenting findings.
  • Monitor credit risk and recommend updates to credit policies as needed


Collections and Accounts Receivable

  • Monitor aging reports and contact customers regarding past-due balances.
  • Develop and enforce payment plans for delinquent accounts.
  • Reconcile customer accounts, process adjustments (e.g., credit memos, write-offs), and resolve payment discrepancies, ensuring accurate customer correspondence records.
  • Provide invoices, statements, and supporting documentation to customers as needed.


Cash Management and Reporting

  • Process customer payments via ACH, wire transfers, credit cards, and checks, ensuring accuracy in posting and reconciliation.
  • Generate and present monthly reports, including aging analysis, collections progress, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain and update customer master data for accuracy and compliance.


Operational Support

  • Review and release orders on credit hold based on payment status and risk evaluation.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and other teams to resolve payment or credit issues.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and reporting tasks as required.


Bookkeeping and Financial Management

  • Reconcile bank accounts and tie out deposits with payments recorded in the ERP system.
  • Accurately record shipping invoices, ensuring timely and precise expense tracking.
  • Manage inventory entries for the retail store, ensuring stock levels and costs are correctly reflected.
  • Process miscellaneous expense transactions and ensure proper categorization in financial records.

Preferences and Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Analysis, Business-to-Business Collections, or Bookkeeping.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
  • Experience with credit processing platforms is a plus, but the ability to quickly learn new systems is more important.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
  • This job is based out of our Bellingham location, and it is not open to hybrid or remote work.

Salary : $53,000 - $58,000
