Our client, a leading architecture and engineering firm based in San Francisco, is seeking a Project Accountant to join their dynamic team. Known for their innovative designs and commitment to sustainability, this firm delivers exceptional projects in commercial, residential, and public sectors.
The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, experience in project costing , and an understanding of the unique financial complexities of the architecture / engineering industry.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Costing & Analysis :
Collaborate with project managers to monitor project budgets, cost estimates, and variances.
- Track and report on project costs, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals and deadlines.
- Perform monthly project financial reviews, analyzing profitability and recommending adjustments as needed.
Accounting Operations :
Manage general ledger entries and ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes.
Billing & Contracts :
Oversee invoicing for project-related services, ensuring compliance with client contracts.
Compliance & Reporting :
Prepare schedules and documentation for audits and tax filings.
Process Improvement :
Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, systems, and reporting tools.
Qualifications : Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience :
1 years of accounting experience, preferably in the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry.
Skills :
Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyze large datasets.
